What $2,900/Month Can Rent You Around San Francisco
Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, where we scour the San Francisco's rental listings to see what your monthly budget will get you across the city. This week, we're investigating apartments listed for $2,900/month. This dollar amount should get you just above an "average" one bedroom apartment, while still keeping a "2" in front of your rental amount. Are space or renovations king? You tell us what looks like the most bang for your buck.
↑ In Nob Hill, this 750 square foot one bedroom is asking $2900/month. The unit shows its age, which translates to charm in the living area, but just straight-up dated in the kitchen and bathroom (despite the listing calling them "updated"). The kitchen and bathroom are also very small, with almost no counter space. Laundry in the building but no pets allowed.

↑ Just down the hill, in Lower Nob Hill, this $2900/month one bedroom is much smaller - 590 square feet - but is newly and nicely renovated. It's sunny and bright, has a brand new kitchen with stainless appliances to come, and french doors. Laundry in the building and cats are allowed.
↑ In the Mission, this one bedroom is going for $2,895/month. It's got hardwood and multiple windows, for a bright living space. The kitchen itself is tiny, but it's loaded with built-ins and has a small dinette area adjacent to it. Laundry in the building and parking is available for an additional $250-$300/month. The building is located a block from Dolores Park, but pets are not allowed.
↑ In the Marina, this charming one bedroom is asking $2,950/month. It's got hardwood, a fireplace, plantation shutters, and vintage cabinetry - but the best part is the parking space in the attached garage that is included in the rent. Laundry in the building and no pets allowed.
↑ In the Outer Richmond, this 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom is going for $2,995/month. The square footage is unspecified, but the unit looks large and bright. The Corbusian ribbon windows in the living area lend "architectural charm" and the kitchen has new appliances. Garage parking is available for an additional $200/month.
