An annual ranking of the National Football League's most valuable franchises ranks the Bay Area's own San Francisco 49ers as the No. 10 team on the list worth an estimated $1.2 billion.
Forbes published the ranking on Wednesday, which listed the Dallas Cowboys as the most valuable team in the league at $2.3 billion.
The Niners are in the process of building their new Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, which will cost an estimated $1.3 billion on its own (read the latest on that project — and see updated construction photos — right here).
During 2012, the team generated $255 million in revenue and claimed $10.2 million in operating income, according to Forbes.
On the other end of the spectrum, the neighboring Oakland Raiders did not fair nearly as well. Forbes ranked the team as the league's least valuable during 2012 at $825 million. That's despite the fact that the team garnered $229 million in revenue and $19.1 million in operating income last year.
