It's official: Google signs for San Antonio Station

The search giant has signed onto San Antonio Station -- the 500,000-square-foot former Mayfield Mall at Central Expressway and San Antonio Road, according to a person with direct knowledge of Google's leasing activity.
We told you August 14 that Google and property owner Four Corners Properties were close -- at least -- to a deal. (To be fair, we told you the same thing in June.) But the ink was not dry until recent days.
I'm not aware of the deal's terms, including length. I also don't know when Google plans to move into the space, or how they're going to build it out. The city of Mountain View has yet to receive a tenant improvement application for the interiors.
This was one of the biggest vacant chunks of space in Mountain View, so expect that submarket's vacancy to tighten further when Q3 brokerage stats come out.
Four Corners Properties didn't immediately return a call for comment. Google declined to comment.
The property was marketed by Jack Troesden and Kevin Cunningham at Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank.
