Little more on the market plus reports this week

This morning, financial markets have reacted to the risk of increased US involvement in the conflict in Syria. The resulting flight to safety has helped MBS and hurt stocks. Oil prices have increased as well. The June S&P Case-Shiller 20-city home price index showed an increase of 12% from one year ago. The results from the 2-yr Treasury auction will come out around 1:00 et.

The Conference Board, a New York-based private research group, said Tuesday that its consumer confidence index rose to 81.5 in August. That's up from a revised reading of 81 in July. And it's just below the 82.1 reading in June, which was the highest since January 2008.
