Happenings
in Winemaking
"Harvest 2013 has began! The near
perfect summer allowed the first early blocks of Chardonnay to come in on
August 26th, the earliest start since 2004. Zinfandel from El Dorado and
Amador will begin harvesting in the second week of September with Cabernet
Sauvignon and Carneros Merlot to follow shortly after that. With the long
term forecast looking great, fingers are crossed to have another near
perfect vintage."

"My wife and I recently
celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and we had all of our guest sign
one of the four 3 liters of our favorite wines. Everyone knew of the
Rombauer Chardonnay and most said it was their favorite... we will be
opening all four magnums on our 50th wedding celebration. Right now, the
bottles are all sharing a special place in my wine cellar all snuggled in
at a comfortable 58 degrees."
