San Jose lures retailers with up to 250k

Hey retailers! SJ gives out $250K to lure creative stores

San Jose is putting a twist on business incentives aimed at lowering vacancy rates, offering breaks to creative businesses like co-working spaces and arts retailers.
High-rise developers and tech companies such as Adobe Systems Inc. and Samsung Electronics have become accustomed to receiving financial incentives to move to the city.
The SJ StoreFronts Initiative expands the reach of incentives. The $250,000 project will offer property or business owners up to $16,000 each in tax credits, permitting costs and fee breaks.
