Bryan Robertson well played- 2 things SEOperts will never tell you

Two Secrets No Social Media Expert Will Tell You

There are a lot of social media experts. Their knowledge spans a wide range of platforms from Facebook to Google+ and usually includes all sorts of strategies on how to use them to boost followers, likes, and comments. Most advice follows the same basic rules: good content, moderate frequency, etc. I've listened to these folks and noticed they're missing two things in their pitch. Knowing these "secrets" will help you achieve results no other piece of advice will. Why share? Why not?

Secret #1 - Social media is just like TV

or radio, newspapers, billboards, or any other...advertising channel. That's right, it's an advertising channel. In the early days of Facebook even the founders knew that social media was a platform for advertising. So in a way, Facebook is just like TV. There are a billion channels (users) and you're one of them. If you want to rise to the top of viewers feeds, you either have to be really witty with a post and hope you get lots of viewers...or advertise.
Promote: This feature puts your post at the top of everyone's news feed on Facebook and Twitter. For $6.99 (Facebook) they see you regularly. Now you're not just a mid-day post that gets missed, you're a prime time show. Create a great post and promote - you'll get viewers (likes, leads, etc). Is your great content not being heard? Use this and rise above the crowd.
Advertising: On Facebook and other platforms you have their regular advertising platform (often times driven by Google AdWords). If you want people to take your expertise in real estate sales seriously, then you need to do this.

Secret #2 - Just like TV, confidence is king

I have yet to see a social media expert pass along the key to successful TV advertising - confidence. When you post a message on one outlet, it should be on ALL outlets, that's basic consistency. Meaning, if you post something on Activerain it should also go on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and any others. This is true in the world of advertising campaigns that use TV, newspapers, and magazines. The images from the ads and commercials all follow the same look, message, etc.
Why does it all need to be the same? Unlike stealth campaigns where a series of mixed messages can inspire curiousity, a regular campaign is designed to inspire confidence. That's the secret - CONFIDENCE. You are a brand and prospective clients need to be confident in your brand. Therefore they want to know you're the same person providing the same service...EVERYWHERE. That confidence will drive them to TRUST you and the services you offer. As we all know, trust is the key to client success in real estate.
