- Avoid truck routes and interstates whenever possible. (sometimes, you have to just to get to the good places, but see if you can find old highways to minimize the super slabs.)
- Check your brakes and tires before leaving and be especially careful on rural and mountain roads.
- Get help with scenic route planning from the U.S Department of Transportation’s National Scenic Byway Program.
- Share your experience with friends and family.(makes it more fun to share, and you’ll have fun remembering where you went)
