Here are the winners, with links to their websites and to videos of their pitches like the one attached below of one of my favorites from Tuesday's conference, machine learning startup Algorithm.io.
—Algorithms.io: This Mountain View startup (www.algorithms.io) led by CEO Andy Bartley (formerly with The Angels' Forum and the Halo Fund) uses a combination of cloud computing, open source software and proprietary technology to deliver predictive analytics as a service. Watch the video below.
— Bugcrowd: This San Francisco company (www.bugcrowd.com) led by CEO Casey Ellis relocated from Australia. It offers cash prizes to 1,700 security researchers who scour its clients' software for security flaws. Watch the video pitch.
— WHILL: This is another company (www.whill.jp) that has relocated, this time from Japan to Menlo Park. Led by CEO Satoshi Sugie, who used to work for Nissan, it has come up with what it calls a Sidewalk EV (electric vehicle) with a smaller turning radius and high ground covering capability. Watch the video pitch.
— E3 Clean Technologies: From Athens, Ohio, E3 (www.e3cleantechnologies.com) is led by CEO Kent Shields. It has devices that turn smog forming NOx emissions in diesel and power plant exhaust or from contamination in wastewater into clean hydrogen fuel. Watch the video pitch.
— OnFarm: Fresno-based OnFarm (www.onfarmsystems.com) is led by CEO Lance Donny and gives farmers reasons to be thankful for clouds of the high tech variety. Its cloud is full of agriculture information that powers a decision and management system designed to help farmers to increase yield and quality while reducing fertilizer, water, labor, and energy.
