Meet Yahoo, a...music festival company?

Yahoo launched an on-the-road music festival that starts in May.

Remember when Yahoo ditched its “digital media” moniker to relabel itself a technology company?
Now it’s a tech company with a music festival.
The Santa Clara company announced it is hitting the road this summer to bring bands, comedians and surprise guests across the U.S. and Europe.
“Yahoo On the Road is not just a road trip,” wrote Chief Marketing Officer Kathy Savitt in a company blog. “...We’re looking to stop you in your tracks with entertainment and inspiration. Whether it’s a celebrity surprise during your morning coffee break or a major concert performance on your drive home - Yahoo is hoping to make your daily routines anything but routine.”
Hey, Yahoo. If you happen to stop by downtown San Jose, I happen to be a big fan of James Mercer.
No Mercer on the lineup I’m seeing (yet). For now, Yahoo has lined up FUN, Kendrick Lamar, Owl City, The Lunineers and others. The final show is in London with Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. Tickets for that one go on sale March 15.
Yahoo also lets you track the tour, which starts May 3, here.
