Google execs land fat bonus checks

Google execs are getting a pretty healthy raise.
According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing today, Eric Schmidt, Google chairman, will receive a $6 million bonus, paid on March 15.
Chief Legal Officer David Drummond will receive $3.3 million, and CFO Patrick Pichette and Chief Business Officer Nikesh Arora will each receive $2.8 million.
The compensation was approved on March 6, and the bonuses are “in recognition of their contributions to performance in fiscal year 2012.
The year definitely was a strong one for the Mountain View high-tech company. Net income was up 10 percent at $10.7 billion for 2012, and revenue kicked up nearly 9 percent to $12.76 billion. The company ended the year with $48.1 billion in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities.
The company's stock continues to tick up, hitting new highs this year.
