The 7-systems of highly effective agents

Top Producers All Have Systems, Do You?

I've noticed a common theme with the myriad agents I run across while recruiting. Many want a system, recognize its importance, and ask if we provide one (we do). What I've found surprising is that when asked about how they do business, most of the agents I meet say they took training, got a system, and it just never took off. Those were systems they paid for. So, even if it were free, would you take it? More importantly, why don't agents put systems in place and leave them there?

The 7 Systems of Highly Effective Agents

The best agents in the business, as far as I've experienced, have systems in place to handle the seven key areas of their business:
  1. Branding / Personal Marketing
  2. Lead Generation
  3. Lead Capture / Conversion
  4. Listing/Seller Process
  5. Buyer Process
  6. Transaction Management
  7. Client Retention (post sale)

Without getting into the details of each of these processes, ask yourself one question: Would you use a system for any one of these? It seems many agents are missing out because they DON'T have a system. What they have is, most often, is the action without the system. They DO the work but they have no SYSTEM for the work.

No Process = No System

Just because you do the work doesn't mean you have a system. A system is a set of processes you've documented so that each time the work is done it's the same. It's repeatable so that anyone can do it. Most important about that is the ability to outsource. If the system has defined steps anyone can do, then have them do it. Now, instead of YOU doing the work all the time someone else does. That allows you to GROW YOUR BUSINESS - the key to success.

Take a look at how you do your business. If you don't have a system or you're doing all the work. Something is wrong. Document it so it becomes easier to repeat and you'll be much more successful.
