Bon
Appetit's '20 Most Important Restaurants in America' for 2013
Food Gal and Bon Appetit agree. Napa's
The Restaurant at Meadowood is worthy of being honored.
Earlier this year, BA ranked "The Restaurant" No.2 in its
top 20 "Most Important Restaurants."
(Manresa in Los Gatos made the list, too, coming in at No. 5.)
Here's a taste of what BA had to say:
"From the pressed white tablecloths to the artisanal tableware,
everything reminds you that this will be a special meal. To see a
chef (Christopher Kostow) at the peak of his powers, eat here
now."
Food Gal did eat at The Restaurant at Meadowood in 2012. Here's a bit
of what she found.
"It's not every day you get invited to dine as a guest at a
Michelin three-star restaurant in the Bay Area.
"It's a rarity - especially because there are only two
restaurants in the region that the Michelin guide has bestowed it
highest honor upon.
"When you have a chef as talented as Christopher Kostow, though,
that's little surprise."

Kostow, who was named "Best Chef in the West' by the James Beard
Foundation, cooked for Food Gal and husband Meat Boy.
