Social Media is NOT about advertising?!?
How many of you can agree with me and appreciate the fact that
social media is not about advertising yourself or your business, but rather it
is about building a relationship with those in and around your industry? In my
personal opinion, if for example, you give your LinkedIn connections and
industry related partners something interesting and/or useful to discuss amongst
each other, you are not only building relationships with them, but in turn
building your knowledge base, expertise, and YES-- potentially your business! I
for one am constantly gaining knowledge from my prospects and clients-----and on
a daily basis!!!! I ask almost each and every person I speak with what they are
currently seeing in the industry, what changes are occurring in their day to day
business practices, what do they think the coming months and years will bring???
By doing this and asking for others opinions and feedback on an ever changing
industry that we have all chosen to be a part of and call “our career”, isn’t
this allowing each other to become better at what we do, how we do it, and
become that much more successful as a whole, which in turn makes for happy
clients for all of us?
