The Skinny: Philanthropist Ann Lurie—widow of real estate investor Robert Lurie—has listed the massive Chicago mansion she purchased in the wake of her husband's untimely death in 1990. Built in 1891, the limestone manor sits on a large lot for the tony Gold Coast, which allows the 18,600-square-foot house plenty of elbow room, but sidles the owner with property taxes of $134K per year—not that Lurie is too concerned, considering the couple's foundation gave $100M to open the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital. Now on the market for $18.75M, the Lurie Mansion boasts 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a conservatory, a library, a rare side yard, and parking for 10 cars.
