E la Carte said on Monday it raised $13.5 million to help spread its ordering and payment tablets to more restaurants.
The Palo Alto company led by CEO Rajat Suri said that the funding was led by Intel Capital, with Romulus Capital also participating. It previously raised over more than $5 million from Lightbank, SV Angel, Dave McClure, Joshua Schachter and others.
The company's Presto tablets sit on restaurant tables, allowing diners to order at any time during a meal and also to pay for their meal. E la Carte claims that its customers have seen a 10 percent sales boost since adopting its tablets, as well as seeing an average 7 minutes faster turnaround and nine-fold jump in use of loyalty programs.
