OnLive on Wednesday named former Bulldog United CEO Don Gordon as the new engineering chief of the Mountain View-based on-demand gaming and computing technology startup.
Gordon holds more than 55 patents in video compression, manipulation, streaming, fingerprinting, VOD, digital ad insertion and other technologies.
At Bulldog from 2009 to 2012, he led a company that replaced TV ads that came in network feeds with targeted ads fed directly to the television over the Internet.
That company was bought by Sony subsidiary Gracenote, the world's biggest database of information about largest source of music and video. Gordon was a vice president there for about 10 months before taking the job at Mountain View-based OnLive.
Gordon and OnLive Chairman Gary Lauder worked together at ActiveVideo Networks, which developed streaming and other video technologies.
