Think you shell out a lot for rent? I bet it's nothing compared to one beautiful loft-style apartment you could get right now in Palo Alto.
But if you think Los Altos would win on spendiest available rental...you’d be right. There, the monthly rent for one six-bedroom home equates to what I made in my first year as a journalist.
This slideshow shows the most expensive places currently on the market from Zillow, a rental and home-buying site (so not necessarily the most expensive rentals ever). It ranges from mansions to lofts (but the number of bedrooms doesn’t necessarily determine ranking—a two-bedroom place in Palo Alto goes for a hefty bit more than a six-bedroom in Mountain View).
Take a look through the slideshow to see inside each city’s most expensive rental.
