But if you think Los Altos would win on spendiest available rental...you’d be right. There, the monthly rent for one six-bedroom home equates to what I made in my first year as a journalist.
This slideshow shows the most expensive places currently on the market from Zillow, a rental and home-buying site (so not necessarily the most expensive rentals ever). It ranges from mansions to lofts (but the number of bedrooms doesn’t necessarily determine ranking—a two-bedroom place in Palo Alto goes for a hefty bit more than a six-bedroom in Mountain View).
