Here's a Look at 'Bay View,' Google's Geeky New Home Base

Google's forthcoming nine-building campus in Mountain View, Calif., may look like any boring corporate park from the rendering, but a recent Vanity Fair preview proves that "the most voracious accumulator of data on the planet" has outdone itself, yet again. Designed by the Seattle-based architecture firm NBBJ, the new Googleplex, called Bay View, features a series of bent angles situated such that "no employee in the 1.1-million-square-foot complex will be more than a two-and-a-half-minute walk from any other." The goal, according to Google real estate chief David Radcliffe, is that staffers are encouraged to "have ideas and be able to turn to others right there and say, 'What do you think of this?'" No word what the interiors will look like yet, but with the tech giant's propensity for orange groves, "hangout spaces," primary colors, and other utterly weird decor details, anything's possible.
