a simple way to attract clients from closed businesses


A market like the one we've been in attracted new businesses and it ran others off. What happens to the clients of the businesses that go under or close up shop? They normally just find a new resource. They might not even know for a year or two that their former business relationship is over.
Let me give you a business strategy when you see a formerly successful business go away. It doesn't matter why it goes away. Most clients they had won't even know. So, when they call their former business relationship, they find out that the number has been disconnected. What do they do next? They will find a new relationship. Why not make that new relationship you?
How do you grab some of their clientele? Call the phone company and ask for the phone number of the former company. Have that number installed in your office, or better yet, have the phone company forward that number to your current number.
A former client calls the number and it rings into your office. It gives you a client who is looking for the former business. That means they are ready to do business. They get you instead, but you're in the same business. So, when you get them on the line, you can convert them to your clients. Keep the line for two or three years and then drop it. You pick up the former company's clients and you increased your business. Simple and easy.
