Four street project back before Planning in SF- Curbed

250 Fourth Street is Back Before Planning

Back in January we took at a look at the planned hotel for the current site of the Olivet Theological University at 250 Fourth Street. There was boatloads of opposition from the neighborhood, mostly over the height and use of the building within a smaller scale residential area. The tricky part of it is the site is also within the SoMa Youth and Family Zone Special Use District, which is intended to expand the provision of affordable housing the SoMa area (but does not preclude the expansion of hotel, office or other uses). The original hearing for the project was continued so the project sponsor and neighbors could pow wow, and tomorrow it'll be back before the Planning Commission tomorrow. Hopefully all the kinks have been ironed out - we'll let you know how it goes.
