5 examples of engaging FB Fan Pages- Lee Lonitz

5 Examples of Engaging Facebook Fan Pages

In my previous blog post “6 Tips for Growing Facebook Fan Pages“, you learned how to grow your numbers for your Facebook fan page from a high-level approach. Page fans can also be further grown by also increasing what is often called “engagement” – how well you and your fans interact on your fan page.

Today, we’d like to show you several examples of fan pages (with links) that are great examples of how to connect with your audience and create the engagement a fan page needs to further grow (and retain) loyal fans.

Wine Tastings and More

Wine consultant Wine Tastings and More

If you love wine and wine tasting, wine consultant Betty Kaufman of Wine Tastings and More is an ultimate guide to the world of wine. Some cool things about her fan page we notice:

- She informs her fans by posting news articles from the wine industry and her blog posts
- She connects with her fans by asking them questions both thought provoking and light spirited (a great way to engage with her fan base)
- Photos of wine labels and bottles, great for creating visual appeal for a product you can’t see from outside a bottle

At over 700 fans at the time of this writing, her fan page is in good spirits. Check it out at facebook.com/winetastingsandmore.

Hobee’s Restaurants

Hobees Restaurants

Hobee’s Restaurants has been serving fresh California cuisine and world famous coffee cake since 1974. Along with a healthy menu, Hobee’s is a family restaurant providing customer service homestyle. Some of the cool things we notice about the Hobee’s fan page:

- Events that show how the brand connects with and involves itself with the local communities.
- Regular contests for Facebook fans which help gather crowds (usually on Fridays)
- Plenty of photos, including photos submitted by fans and photos of food (as you’d expect)

Hobee’s has well over 2,200 fans and you can become one today by visiting them at facebook.com/hobees.

Chrome Fit

New Year’s is not too far away and with it, one of the most popular personal resolutions made annually. But whether for the new year or year around, Chrome Fit helps people and small groups stay in shape with personal fitness training, boot camps, and kettle bell madness. What’s cool about their fan page:

- Occasional fitness tips for staying in shape (including videos)
- Events for upcoming boot camps or classes posted
- Spontaneous shout outs to their umpteenth fans (I have to admit I was taken by pleasant surprise when I saw my name called out as fan #200). Such a method can be a great reward for fan loyalty, even if it is verbal.

Lone Star Limousine

Lone Star Limousine is an award-winning limousine and transportation providing personal and business travel in luxury and style. What we love about the Lone Star Limo fan page:

- High-level of responsiveness (just like great cusotmer services should do as you’d expect)

- Connecting with fans through asking them questions, finding out what’s important to them

- Posting services about and promotions by the company are kept to a minimum so as to encourage more interaction with fans and seem less “pitchy”

Kerry Michelle Smith

Kerry Michelle Smith on Facebook

Kerry Michelle Smith is a popular Bay Area personality and actress, and when you visit the Kerry Michelle Smith fan page, you got to love the interactivity she has with her fans. Some of her rock star techniques:

- Conversing with her crowd through questions (similar to celebrities on Twitter we might add)
- Photos of her work, including latest commercial spots and photo shoots (great for fans to keep in the know)
- Upcoming appearances

Hopefully this post gave you a few pointers by example through a sampling of fan pages above. The only limit to what you post to connect with and engage your fans is your own creativity!
