Never kill a houseplant Again!

Never Kill a Houseplant Again!

We tout the health benefits of houseplants pretty much every chance we get. But if cacti are the only plants you can keep alive, it’ll be hard to reap the rewards. Luckily, there are some hot new technologies around that can help you develop your green thumb.
These three plant monitors will let you know when it’s time to feed and water your plants, plus they’ll send the info directly to your smartphone! So forget that “magic” fertilizer and check them out:
1. Plant Link. This cool plant monitor just closed a successful round of Kickstarter funding. It’s a complete system that tracks your houseplants’ needs and alerts you when they need to be watered. If you’re too busy or out of town, it can even water your plants for you! Plant Link will cost $80, and is expected to be released later in 2013. If you dig them, follow their progress!
2. Flower Power. Flower Power isn’t released yet, either, but when it hits the market later this year, we think it’s going to make waves! Not only will it track your plant’s water needs, it also tracks sunlight exposure, temperature and fertilizer levels. It’s a super-simple setup, too. All you have to do is pop a sensor into your plant’s pot, and bam! Plant data is beamed right to your smartphone or computer.
3. Koubachi. If you simply can’t wait to start taking better care of your leafy friends, the Koubachi is your guy. This sensor costs $99 and measures water, temperature and light exposure. Plus, it’s waterproof, so you can use it on outdoor plants, too!

Glad you liked it. Would you like to share?
