summer is here! Symphony Silicon Valley's completely FREE summer
music festival opens next Saturday, July 27. We have five lively,
diverse and entertaining concerts, just for you!
Strauss, Vivaldi, Piazzolla, and Mussorgsky launch the Festival
Saturday evening, with classical favorites just right for the season.
Symphony Associate Concertmaster Christina Mok will join the orchestra
to wow us with two brilliant solos.
Sunday afternoon (July 28) we present our first ice cream social--
free ice cream before the concert for all our Target Pops fans.
Great themes from Hollywood Westerns follow: The Magnificent
Seven, Blazing Saddles, Silverado, Dances with Wolves and
much more! Plus, for a special treat, baritone Ralph Cato
returns this year to sing Rawhide.

A lively
collection of beloved light classics includes highlights from the
immortal Carmen,
Rimsky-Korsakov's frenetic Flight
of the Bumblebee, and "Summer" from both
Vivaldi's Four
Seasons and Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires,
featuring Associate Concertmaster Christina Mok. The orchestra will
transport us to the English countryside, the stormy coast of Finland,
and a magical forest in Fairyland, before closing with selections
from Mussorgsky's Pictures
at an Exhibition. Join us for an evening of tuneful
favorites that will have you humming.

irresistible, quick-draw Maestro Jaffe will lead the orchestra in the
larger-than-life music of cattle drives, the open road, the wild
prairie, outlaws and slow-spoken heroes, and captivate us all. And a
bonus: big baritone Ralph Cato, singing a burly Rawhide! Come
early for free ice cream before the concert - perfect for a warm

orchestra of San Jose. Founded in 2002, the nonprofit company has
