How do you balance prospecting and building a business- from a roundtable I attended

Question how do you balance prospecting and building your business? What are your trips for building while operating your business

Discipline- if you want results but do not have a plan results will be inconsistent

Have a business plan real numbers

Book time on every days schedule for prospecting or building your business

Schedule time each day

Complete 5 contacts per day

Complete 5 past client calls per day

We know who we need to know talk to them

When you meet people talk less listen more they will tell you what they need

Mine your current customers they will be your sales force

Designate employee or contractors to focus on lead generation

Build systems through SEO consultants, mailers, email campaigns to stay in touch BESIDES (not in place of) personal contact

Nurture and build your relationships

Prospect at your high energy times of the day

Be social- we find reasons not to attend mixers parties etc. (because we are busy)  be social ask about others and really learn about them your interest will start a relationship

Use SEO tools and ask your real friends and customers to help build your business

Create your recipe for daily activity like 4 for today and two for tomorrow and never doubt you when you get busy still need to build for the future

Know your numbers  including conversion rates, how many folks you can speak with daily and busy times of the month. Tailor your plan to your schedule

Some found using the times of the month where daily activities were less could be hours of prospecting

When you attend an event invest in that event to be sure you get the most from the event

Event management- Use the bartender/host rule- always have people you meet interested to speak more and keep moving. That is a reason for follow up you meet a bartender or host of a party and they really care that you are there and really want to help you enjoy. You have quality conversations that are short
