Giants Pitcher Barry Zito Lowers Price for Kentfield Estate
Now: $9,775,000
You Save: $1,720,000
Way back in June of last year we broke the news that very wealthy Barry Zito had listed his Mediterranean mansion over in Kentfield. The location was ideal for the often criticized pitcher, as it's a long and beautiful drive to work, but far enough away that he probably wouldn't be recognized at his local Whole Foods. The abode was originally listed at $11,495,000, and with the latest chop of $720,000, the home's now asking $9,775,000. According to Zito's publicist Kathy Jacobson, the reason for selling the property was the commute. "Barry loves Marin and the house; he was married there… but with the drive over the bridge all the way across town to the ballpark, it was just too much, especially with a new marriage."
660 Goodhill Road, aka Villa Della Pace, sits on two and a quarter acres of hillside overlooking Phoenix Lake with views of Mt. Tamalpais. The 5-bed, 5.5-bath, 6,672 square foot home was built in 2002. The garage alone is 864 square feet, which is larger than most one bedroom apartments in San Francisco.
