Nutella Pound
Cake
Nutella is like a cherished old friend.
You know the kind I mean.
The kind that you grew up all sweet on. Then, as you got older, maybe
you lost touch, preoccupied instead by so many other nuts in your
life.
But every time your paths would cross at the supermarket, it was like
old times again. You found yourself smitten just like before by
Nutella's comforting yet indulgent nature.
If you haven't seen your friend, Nutella, in awhile, click here for a recipe surely will make
you want to get reacquainted fast.

Don't Forget, Food Gal at Macy's
Valley Fair April 27
Yes,
join me at 2 p.m. April 27 at the Macy's Men's and Home Store at
Valley Fair Shopping Center in Santa Clara, when I host a cooking
demo with the duo behind Asian Box, which has locations in
Palo Alto, Mountain View and soon in Burlingame.
Chef Grace Nguyen and her husband, Culinary Director Chad Newton,
will be on hand to cook up some of their Asian street-food
specialties, which are all gluten-free.
The event will take place in the demonstration kitchen on the first
floor of the store. Seating is limited and on a first come, first
served basis. Register here for the free event. Be sure to RSVP with the special promo code
FOODGALVIP to receive a free $10 Macy's gift card when you check in
at the event. How's that for an incentive to attend this delicious
afternoon of cooking?

Big News from Food Gal
See
those cookbooks up there?
Soon, there will be a San Francisco-centered one, too.
And I'm thrilled to announce that I'll be writing it.
Yes, my first cookbook ever.
"San Francisco Chef's Table" (Globe Pequot) is expected to
publish toward the end of this year.
Like the other books in this series, it will spotlight about 50
restaurants - most in San Francisco with a smattering from other
parts of the Bay Area - and include recipes from each one.
The photos will be gorgeous, too, as they'll be shot by award-winning
photojournalist Craig Lee, who for many years was the main food
photographer for the San Francisco Chronicle's Food section.

adventure.
