Tom Siebel's energy software startup C3 raises $15M

The Redwood City company didn't say who the money came from but said there were three investors involved. The filing said there was Series C preferred stock and Class A common stock involved in the deal.
The company didn't immediately respond to a request for comment about the filing.
C3 offers smart grid analytics to utilities including PG&E to help them better manage their systems.
In addition to Siebel, his longtime colleague and current C3 President Ed Abbo and C3 co-founder and executive vice-chair Patricia House are other company executives named on the Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
The company's who's who board of director named on the filing include former Secretary of State and current Stanford professor Condoleeza Rice; former Department of Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham; Yale President Richard Levin; Aaron Morris of First Virtual Group, a holding company chaired by Seibel; former Morgan Stanley exec Jay Dweck; Makena Capital CEO Michael McCaffery; UC-Berkeley Engineering Dean S. Shankar Shastry; Exelon Executive Chair Mayo Shattuck; and retired Lenovo CEO Stephen Ward.
