Loads of Lemons

Meyer Lemon Cake

That's the story for a lot of backyard gardeners: loads of  Meyer lemons.

So, when life gives you a load of lemons, you just have to use them, of course. In everything you can think of - and then some.

This quite citrusy cake uses more than a pound of lemons. Most of them are pulverized - rind, pulp and all - to go into the cake batter, which contains no butter. Instead, ground almonds give it richness, along with five large eggs.

Fans of the sultan of snark will rejoice that a new Anthony Bourdain show will debut 6 p.m. PST (9 p.m. ET) April 14 on CNN.

"Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown" is a series of one-hour shows following Bourdain as he travels to visit little-known areas of the globe, where he'll explore its culture and food.

The premiere episode takes him to Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, and until recently, very restricted to outsiders.

Future episodes will have him in Libya, Columbia, the Quebecoise side of Canada, Koreatown in Los Angeles, Tangier, Peru and the Congo.
