Greetings! New Year's Resolution First of all, let's make a New Year's resolution to de-clutter and organize the garage...this is a daunting task and experts recommend breaking the job down into several steps. As you complete one task, cross it off the list and a sense of accomplishment will spur you on to the next. All organizational projects require piles. It is suggested to make three piles - one for "keep", one for "giveaway" and one for "junk/throwaway. Schedule a pickup of items to "giveaway"...research and find the worthy charities that will pick up and what they will accept and set the appointment. Ask friends and co-workers for referrals. I recently did an inquiry regarding unused golf equipment and found a high school coach in need of practice equipment for his after class students. Next, discard all of the "junk/throwaway". Now for "keep". Organization is the key so plan to use wall space and drop downs from the ceiling, purchase shelving, hooks and pegboards to put everything away. You can now embrace the clutter-free space to unblock your brain to focus on more difficult tasks that you have wanted to get done. One more thing: Do you have an older refrigerator or freezer in the garage that is running up your utility bill? Reading Partners needs your help!

Would you like to help a needy child progress at least one grade level in their reading? Nearby schools have a program called Reading Partners. This is a non-profit that provides a terrific tutoring program to students in grades K-5 at a nearby local elementary school. You can make a big difference by spending an hour or two each week with your own assigned student. Please join other Villagers who are currently helping with this program.
