I had a car accident in Jan. The repair estimate I
received from the body shop is 20% higher than the Insursance Company Field
Rep's estimate. How can I resolve this?

Robinson Coverage Plus Insurance • This can be a tricky situation. I have seen a few of the
"online" carriers refuse to pay for parts or tools necessary to repair a vehicle
properly and this conflicts with the body shops standards and many times these
carriers place the cost burden back on the client. It could also be a difference
in the labor rate the body shop is charging you compared to what other shops are
charging the insurance carrier.
My best suggestion would be to contact
the body shop and ask them to compare the field adjusters estimate with their
own and let you know exactly where the difference lies. This will allow you to
determine if insurance carrier is not allowing for certain costs or if it's
simply a difference in labor/parts charges from the body shop. A good shop and a
good carrier should be able to work out the difference without troubling you,
the customer!
