A pair of peer-to-peer car-sharing startups became one on Tuesday with the acquisition of Wheelz by RelayRides.
The San Francisco companies didn't disclose the financial terms of the deal.
RelayRides, led by CEO Andre Haddad, raised about $13 million since it started in 2008, including investments from General Motors Ventures, Google Ventures, August Capital and Shasta Ventures.
Wheelz, led by founders Jeff Miller and Akhtar Jameel, raised about $20 million since it launched in 2011. Its backers include Felicis Ventures, Social + Capital Partnership, Fontinalis Partners and Zipcar.
Miller is leaving the company with the acquisition, as is half of the 20 people on the workforce. The rest will join RelayRides in San Francisco.
