Recipient of Applied Materials Foundation Grant in support of the World Premiere of Jane Austen's PERSUASION by Jennifer Le Blanc. Recipient of Arts Council Silicon Valley Excellence in the Arts Awards. Recipient of The Rotary Club of San Jose Foundation's Capital Equipment Grant Award The Fourth Annual Stage's Top Honor Awards Program, sponsored by the Michelson Foundation, expanded to 2,700+ student performers from 19 Bay Area public and private high schools. Top Honor Best Actor and Actress Winners competed on Broadway in the National High School Musical Competition (JIMMY Awards). The First Annual Bay Area High School Musical Theatre Showcase, featuring 32 high school students, played to a sold-out audience. The Stage entered into a 3-year partnership with Notre Dame High School. San Jose Stage Company will provide Notre Dame with year-round access to its professionally-equipped performing arts venue. The Stage's Associate Artists will teach classes in support of Notre Dame's Drama curriculum. Recipient of the City of San Jose's EmcArts New Pathways and 1stACT Silicon Valley/Downtown Association Small Wonders Innovation Fund Grant Awards Overall ticket sales reached an all-time high! The Stage was featured in a front page article in the San Jose Mercury News titled Ten Small Bay Area Stages Mount Splendid Productions. The Stage was cited as one of "Ten Stellar Small Stage Companies." The Stage's milestone anniversary was recognized in a front page feature article in the San Jose Mercury News titled Taking A Bow and culminated in the 30/20 Benefit, celebrating the 30th Anniversary of The Stage and the 20th Anniversary of Monday Night Live!
