Dear Alan,
These are exciting times at Sum of All Numbers. Not only are we seeing the
end to another successful tax preparation season with our wonderful
clients, but we have tested and proven an even better system for bringing
on new clients and getting their books caugh up quickly and efficiently.
Our new On-Boarding Manager, Susan Powers, and her team have done an
incredible job of streamlining the process of bringing on new clients and
getting them into a monthly flow very quickly! From those who are as much
as two years behind to setting up a bookkeeping system for a business
that has never had one. Susan and her team get the job done again and
again.
If you have procrastinated getting your books in order and ready for tax
preparation, you will most likely need to ask your CPA to file an
extension. It's still not too late to let us jump in and take that burden
off your shoulders to meet the October extension deadline.
Don't wait! Contact us today!
Sincerely,
Holly DeVito

Are You Collecting the Needed W-9s?
If
you use independent contractors to perform services for your business or
rental that is a trade or business, and you pay them $600 or more for the
year, you are required to issue them a Form 1099 after the end of the
year to avoid facing the loss of the deduction for their labor and
expenses. (This requirement generally does not apply for payments made to
a corporation. However, the exception does not apply to payments made for
attorney fees and for certain payments for medical or health care
services.) (Read More)
Tax Filing Deadline Rapidly Approaching
Just
a reminder to those who have not yet filed their 2012 tax return that
April 15, 2013 is the due date to either file your return and pay any
taxes owed, or file for the automatic six-month extension and pay the tax
you estimate to be due. (Read More)
Beware of Bogus IRS Emails
Every
tax-filing season, the scammers and ID thieves try to sucker people into
providing personal and financial information through the use of phony
e-mails.
Circular 230 Disclosure, United States Treasury
regulations effective June 21, 2005 require us to notify you that to the
extent of this communication, or any of its attachments, contains or
constitutes advice regarding any U.S. Federal tax issue, such advice is
not intended or written to be used, and cannot be used, by any person for
the purpose of avoiding any penalties that can be imposed by the Internal
Revenue Service.
