My Thursday group talking branding this was good tips


Great discussion today!  Here are some highlights:

 

·         Your personal brand is the same as your business brand

·         People may not view you the same way you view yourself*

·         Listen to your clients for what’s important to them

·         Be consistent in how you communicate your brand

·         Testimonials are great (but must be legitimate)

·         Have a broad digital presence

·         Establish yourself as an authority (write books, blogs, articles, share knowledge)

·         Differentiate yourself

o   Customize gifts for clients

o   Be responsive

o   Always think about how you would react if you were the client

o   Treat employees or contractors well

o   Become a trusted advisor

o   Have a support team (like us!) or other resources to draw from

*A majority of the team liked the idea of somehow doing an anonymous survey to find out how others in the group perceive us.  Artie & Lucy will follow up with a suggested approach.  (Please send any ideas beyond those discussed in the meeting to Artie)
