Yes, college is supposed to be a place of personal enrichment, where the youth of the world go to encounter big ideas, grapple with big questions, and be molded into better citizens by the collected knowledge of mankind. But they're also places of personal enrichment in the sense that a degree from a good school on a resume can greatly increase earning potential.
If you're interested in that kind of enrichment, check out these schools, which have the highest reported salaries for graduates, according to the research firm Nerd Wallet.
Stanford University, as you might guess, ranks high on this list. Yet it's not the most lucrative place to get a degree. That honor goes to Carnegie Melon, whose graduates make $84,409 a year on average. While based in Pittsburgh, not Silicon Valley, Carnegie Melon has a local presence in the form of a computer science graduate school in Mountain View.
