Access is a very important part of getting your home sold. The lock box allows an agent making an appointment to show your home to get access to the key.
Without a lock box you will have to be around to give access. But Mrs. Seller I know you work. Are you expecting to give access only when you are available? By doing this you will be losing some buyers. Our market is still a buyer's market so a potential buyer will move on to the next property if access is not easy.
Oh! you were expecting this to be an accompanied showing by your agent? Here too the showings will be somewhat limited because your agents is working with other clients, therefore the showings would have to fit into her schedule. Yes you would miss out on the short notice appointments.
I do hope you will reconsider and use a lock box. A lock box facilitate more showings and a faster sale
With that being said, I know there are some reasons why an accompanied showing will be the way to go.
