Smuin Ballet: thnaks Dawn Thomas

The Dawn Thomas Team likes to bring you activities around the Silicon Valley and today we have: the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts presenting the Smuin Ballet performing Cold Virtues, Starshadows, Homeless, No Viviré and Oh, Inverted World! Don’t miss out on this beautiful show of the emotion, music and the human body.
“Famed for their winning combination of cutting-edge choreography and stunning stagecraft, Smuin Ballet returns from its New York premiere with an exciting new program. Set to music by indie-rock band The Shins, Oh, Inverted World is a commission from award-winning choreographer Trey McIntyre. The company also performs Michael Smuin’s own romantic Starshadows, framed by Ravel’s “Piano Concerto in G Major”, while Philip Glass’ haunting “Violin Concerto” sets the tone for Adam Hougland’s Cold Virtues. Also on the bill are two solo works:Homeless, danced to the African rhythms of Paul Simon’s Graceland album, and No Viviré, featuring the driving sounds of the Gipsy Kings.”
