Fortinet buys Coyote Point

Fortinet buys Coyote Point, gets into app delivery business

Fortinet is expanding beyond its network security business with the acquisition on Friday of Coyote Point, an application delivery and server management provider with an office in San Jose.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Sunnyvale-based Fortinet, however, pointed to a report from Gartner that said application delivery spending is now at more than $1.5 billion and is growing by 15 percent a year.
Coyote Point, led by CEO Bill Kish, is a privately held company based in Millerton, N.Y. Fortinet said it doesn't plan any immediate changes to the company's products, channel programs or customer support.
