You see it again and again: The attitude and behavior of top leaders set the
tone for the culture of an entire company. In other words, leaders model the
behavior they want to see the rest of their company embrace.

I’ve always tried to be radically transparent.
It’s probably one of the best policies that leaders can take. If you’re not
transparent, then people don’t know where they stand with things, or with other
leaders.
I can tell you that my team knows exactly where
they stand on any issue. They don’t have to second-guess where I’m going to come
from. I don’t want them to second-guess. I want them to know very clearly the
conditions of satisfaction – where we’re going to go, how we’re going to do it
and what we expect of them. By doing that, I think, it fosters … [and] becomes
the culture of the company.
It takes a lot of time to develop the culture, but
it certainly impacts the mood.
