The card room:
The main floor of the casino room. Some 2,500 to 5,000 people come to the casino each day. Most of the crowd is from San Jose, although the casino brings in players from San Francisco and South Bay cities as well. Demographics lean male, ages 25 to 54, with slightly higher education and high ethnic diversity. The casino has especially reached out to the Asian demographics. Its name is one reflection of that strategy, as eight is considered a lucky number in many Asian cultures).
Games include: Texas Hold’em, Blackjack, Baccarat, Double Hand Poker, Omaha Hi, Pai Gow Tiles, No Limit Hold’em

M8trix, which opened in August 2012 at 1887 Matrix Blvd., draws 2,500 to 5,000 people each day to play everything from poker and Texas Hold’em to War (yep, that game you remember from childhood).
The company is on track to bring
in $67 million this year, according
to co-owner Eric
Swallow, and employs 800 people.
The venue offers 49 gaming
tables, while the 14-story tower has event space with a view and private rooms
for karaoke. Longer term, the casino hopes to add up to 30 more tables and offer
gaming on the top floor of its tower (if it can get city approval, which
thus far has been messy).
