Google Wallet now lets you transfer money via your smartphone to anyone with an email address

The
new app lets you securely send money using a smartphone to anyone in the U.S.
with an email address. Google offered
up the ability to send money directly to friends and family via Gmail in
May.
Other new features include the ability to load loyalty card data and
discounts and promotions directly into the Google Wallet app (meaning you can
ditch the dozen individual cards per store you have in your non-virtual wallet).
The app also lets you see all purchases made via Google Wallet in one place.
The newly updated Google Wallet
app helps the Mountain View tech giant compete against the heavy hitters in the
payment space, namely PayPal. PayPal, owned by eBay, recently
announced an updated payments app itself.
